2024 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE – EVERYTHING YOU NEED

When your eyes are close, and you think of Jeep, chances are the rugged Wrangler comes to mind, but the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is just as essential to the famed off-road brand’s success in terms of sales. Its appeal is enhanced by combining impressive off-road ability with on-road refinement, offers plenty of available luxury equipment and features, and has the rugged exterior that Jeep buyers love. We like it too and gave it our Editor’s Choice award. A trio of powertrains is offered, including the standard V-6 and V-8 options and a new hybrid option Jeep calls the 4xe. While rear-wheel drive is standard on V-6 models, there are no less than three different all-wheel-drive systems to help handle whatever your lifestyle demands, whether a simple drive through snowy weather or crawling through stones in Moab.

2024 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STYLING & INTERIOR FEATURES

The Chrysler Pacifica has 32.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats, 87.5 cubic feet with folded seats, and 140.5 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.

That’s a huge load capacity, and it’s wide enough to fit 4×8-foot sheets of plywood and other bulky loads like a sofa, loveseat, or dining set. Even better, it doesn’t require removing Pacifica’s rear seats. These Stow ‘N Go second and third-row seats can be folded into the floor to create a flat cargo area, and the process takes just seconds. When the seats are in use, the underfloor cubbies offer additional storage space for small items.

The 2024 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has seven seats as standard. The eight-seat configuration, which adds a small middle seat to the second row, is optional.

Regardless of the layout, the front seats are well-cushioned and supportive. There’s generous headroom and legroom up front for taller passengers. The Pacifica’s outward visibility to the front, sides, and rear is excellent. The large power-sliding side doors make ingress and egress a breeze. The second and third rows are equally spacious and can accommodate adults and children with plenty of room to move around. However, these Stow ‘N Go seats are less comfortable than the competition. The upholstery is relatively thin, so the seats can fit under the floor when folded.

Fabric upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are standard equipment. Upgrades include:

• Leather upholstery.
• Ventilated front seats.
• Heated second-row seats with lumbar cushions.
• A power-folding third row.

The Chrysler Pacifica has four to five complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear seats, depending on the configuration.

2024 DODGE CHALLENGER SPECS

Dodge offers six different engine options for the Challenger. V8s are the main attraction, but they are pricey. Additionally, the 3.6-liter V6 engine’s standard 303 horsepower has something other buttery coupes lack: available all-wheel drive. Although the V6 isn’t the most exciting engine, its all-wheel-drive system is an excellent feature for people in snowy climates and unique to the segment.

We think most people buying a Challenger will be happy with the 5.7-liter V8 engine. It makes a guttural sound, producing up to 375 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. A 485-hp 6.4-liter V8 and 475 lb-ft of torque are available for even more power. This engine is as high as we’d recommend driving, as the 4.2-second 0-60 mph is plenty quick. Additionally, these two V8s are the only ones with a six-speed manual transmission.

The top four Challengers have a supercharged version of the Dodge Hellcat’s 6.2-liter V8 engine. Power output varies from 717 hp. in the SRT Hellcat, 797 hp. in SRT Hellcat Redeye, and 807 hp. in the new configuration Jailbreak and SRT Super Stock.
